The Honest Athlete Intro

Stop!  Before reading further into this blog, please understand that much of what you read here will only make you feel good about yourself if you are like one of the "Honest Athletes" honored and motivated here on this site.

If you do not want to be honest with yourself, find another blog to read -- because it is you who will probably lose confidence in yourself upon realizing that others ARE out there training and preparing well while you are being dishonest with your approach.

If you are not currently honest with yourself, please read on and deal with the pain of realizing how much time you wasted today….and then use the guidance and honesty in this blog to begin the process of training and preparing like a great athlete.

My goal here is to form a positive approach to "Training Integrity", but what I have to say will only appear positive and motivating to the eyes and heart of a "high achiever".  If you are not a high achiever, you will notice that much of what you read here could make you feel like "less of an athlete" than you perceive yourself to be.  If you ARE a high achiever, you will begin to resonate with what I have to say and you will build extraordinary confidence in yourself based off the knowledge and experience of traveling the path toward higher levels of achievement.

I will be using examples from my own team's training at T2 Aquatics, where we have our share of High Achievers (and every other sort of athlete!).  I plan to use names only when I have something positive to say about a certain person, and I plan to avoid personalizing my articles when I have negative things to point out.  My hope is that we can all learn from each type of instance.

Make no mistake about it, the path toward athletic success is in YOUR control -- it is your responsibility and no one else's.  Your movement into higher levels of achievement will be reflected in all areas of your life, including Academics, Family matters, and Business.  Thanks for reading this far, and Good Luck!
